The Compliance Officer for Privacy plays a critical role in ensuring the organization adheres to data privacy laws and regulations across all jurisdictions where Transcom operates. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of data privacy frameworks. The Compliance Officer will work closely with the Data Protection Officer, Regional Lead, Data Privacy, and/or Global Head of Operational Risk Management to implement and maintain privacy compliance programs, conduct privacy risk assessments, and support data protection initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Privacy Compliance:

● Develop, implement, and maintain data privacy policies and procedures.

● Conduct data privacy risk assessments, audits, and compliance reviews to identify and mitigate risks.

● Monitor regulatory changes in data privacy laws and recommend necessary policy updates.

● Manage data subject requests, including access, rectification, erasure, and data portability.

● Collaborate with business units to ensure alignment with privacy compliance requirements.

● Investigate and respond to data breaches and other privacy incidents, including:

○ Conducting preliminary investigations into suspected data breaches.

○ Collecting evidence and documentation related to privacy incidents.

○ Supporting internal and external communications during data breach responses.

○ Assisting in the implementation of corrective and preventive measures.

● Conduct privacy gap analyses and recommend corrective actions.

● Proactively identify and assess emerging data privacy risks within the region.

● Conduct data privacy gap analyses and recommend corrective actions.

Data Protection & Security Support:

● Implement and maintain appropriate technical and organizational measures to safeguard personal data.

Support lawful, fair, and transparent data processing activities.

● Maintain records of processing activities (RoPA) and other compliance documentation.

Training & Awareness:

● Assist in the development and delivery of data privacy training programs for employees.

● Promote privacy awareness and compliance across the organization.

Reporting & Documentation:

○ Assist in the preparation and maintenance of data privacy compliance documentation.

○ Support the preparation of reports and dashboards related to data privacy compliance.

○ Contribute to the achievement of data privacy compliance objectives within the region.

○ Support the timely resolution of data subject requests.

What we are looking for:

To be successful in this role you must have…

● Bachelor's degree in Law, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.   Equivalent professional certifications in data privacy (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT) are plus.

● 1-3 years of experience in data privacy compliance, risk management, or a related field.

● Good working knowledge of data privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and local regulations.

● Strong understanding of data protection principles.

● Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

● Strong presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage audiences at all levels.

● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desired Skills:

● Experience with data privacy technologies and tools.

● Project management skills.

● Proficiency in a second language is a plus.

Work Experience:

• DPO ACE Level 1 Certified or its equivalent 

• At least three (3) years’ experience as Compliance Officer for Privacy, preferably in a BPO environment
