The Company Psychologist is a dedicated mental health professional employed directly by an organization—such as a corporation —rather than working in a clinical practice. They provide direct counseling, assess employee well-being, and develop mental health programs tailored to the organization's specific needs.

Key Responsibilities

The duties of an in-house psychologist generally balance direct clinical care with organizational health:

  • Individual Counseling: Provide confidential, one-on-one therapy for employees, students, or residents dealing with stress, anxiety, burnout, or personal issues.
  • Assessments & Diagnostics: Conduct psychological evaluations to identify mental health conditions, learning disabilities, or behavioral concerns.
  • Crisis Intervention: Act as the immediate point of contact for individuals experiencing severe emotional distress or workplace emergencies.
  • Workplace/Institutional Strategy: Design and implement wellness programs, stress-management workshops, and training sessions aimed at improving overall morale and psychological safety.
  • Management Consultation: Advise HR teams or leadership on strategies to improve team dynamics, prevent burnout, and handle sensitive interpersonal conflicts.

  • Clinical Care: Providing confidential, one-on-one therapy for employees dealing with stress, anxiety, burnout, or personal issues. This includes crisis intervention and conducting psychological evaluations or assessments.
  • Organizational Health: Designing and implementing institutional strategies such as wellness programs, stress-management workshops, and training sessions to improve morale and psychological safety. This also involves advising HR teams or leadership on preventing burnout and handling sensitive interpersonal conflicts.
  • Part-Time Schedule and Location
    • The schedule is structured to cover specific days while maintaining the ability to fulfill responsibilities for the Wellness Team.
      • Coverage: Onsite, three-days per week between Monday to Friday, US hours (GY)
      • Flexibility: Must be flexible to accommodate client meeting requests outside of the usual coverage on a case-by-case basis.
  • Key Expectations and Commitments
    • The position involves mandatory meetings and project-based work, often scheduled outside of traditional business hours.
      • Meetings
        • Attend weekly wellness team synchronization meetings, which may be set in the evenings
        • Adhere to a weekly 1:1 schedule with the supervisor, which may also be set in the evening
      • Projects and Support
        • Active involvement in Wellness Team engagement and project implementations.
        • Responsibilities may include the completion of specific phases of projects, collaboration on training modules, and facilitation of other Wellness Learning Sessions.
        • Provide weekend support to the Wellness Team.
      • Documentation: Required to submit daily activity logs and coaching/ counseling notes inputted in the Wellness App

What we are looking for:

To be successful in this role you must…

  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Clinical, Counseling, or Industrial-Organizational (I/O) Psychology
  • Must hold an active license to practice in your jurisdiction (e.g., registered with the local psychological governing body)
  • Exceptional active listening, empathy, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • The ability to navigate and respect a diverse workforce or student body
